This policy explains how Sedgefield² (“we”) processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Responsible party
The responsible party is the manager of Sedgefield². Questions, requests and complaints can be sent to hello@sedgefieldsquared.com, marked for the attention of the Information Officer.
What we collect
Only what you enter in the enquiry form:
- your name, email address, WhatsApp number (optional) and country;
- your trading experience band and portfolio size band;
- what you would like help with, and how you heard about us;
- a record of your consent, with the date and time it was given.
To protect the form from abuse we keep a one-way hash of your network address, never the address itself. The website uses privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Analytics) that do not use cookies or identify individual visitors.
Why we collect it
To read and respond to your enquiry, to arrange an introductory call, and, if you become a client, to manage that relationship. We do not use your information for marketing to third parties, and we never sell it.
Legal basis
We process your information with your consent, which you give when you submit the form, and where necessary to take steps towards an agreement you have asked for.
Who can see it
Only the manager. The information is stored with service providers who act as operators on our behalf under contractual safeguards: our database and hosting providers (Supabase, Vercel) and our email provider (Resend). Some of these providers may store information outside South Africa, in countries with adequate data-protection laws or under binding agreements, as POPIA section 72 requires.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client or ask us to delete them sooner. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
- to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to receive a copy;
- to ask us to correct or delete it;
- to withdraw your consent, or object to processing, at any time;
- to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
To exercise any of these, email hello@sedgefieldsquared.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, and delete your information on request.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to one password-protected owner account, and every database table is protected by row-level security.
