i.The problem
Most traders don't lose on the stock. They lose on the rules they break.
A good idea can survive a bad market. What it rarely survives is a trader who moves his stop, adds to a loser, or sizes a position on conviction instead of risk.
These are not analytical failures. They are lapses of discipline, and they happen to experienced people under pressure. Sedgefield² is built to remove them: the rules are decided in advance, written down, and applied every time.
ii.The approach
Four rules, applied every time.
Every trade has a stop
The exit for a trade that goes wrong is set before the trade exists. The loss at that stop is known in advance, and a stop is only ever moved closer.
Size is set by risk
Position size comes from what one is prepared to lose, a small, fixed fraction of the portfolio, never from how strongly one feels about the idea.
Asymmetry, or nothing
The potential reward must be at least twice the risk, after costs. A trade that cannot clear that bar is simply not taken.
Patience, then review
Ideas wait before they become plans, and plans wait before they are approved. Every trade is reviewed against the rules, win or lose.
iii.Services
